Founded by Mohamad Abido Shehade in Beirut in 1950 and restructured as a joint-stock company in 2021, Abido Trading & Industry Co. is a leader in the Lebanese spice sector. We import, examine, grind, blend and package spices for retail, food service and export to the Gulf, Europe, Canada, the United States and beyond.

Abido began manual packaging and pioneered a distribution network using bicycles.

Bicycles were replaced by a fleet of seven delivery cars.

The next generation

The new generation of the Abido family opened a factory in Burj Abi Haidar, Beirut.

The export department was established — Abido's first step toward becoming a global company.
